It makes doing battle maps pretty easy, and there's villagers with trades set up, so less work for the DM, and some things are left vague so people can change a lot of elements within the world.

The thing is, enchantments have been replaced with ones from Minecraft, the Minecraft monsters will actually be fight-able throughout the campaign, and items such as elytra will be in it.
